48th WorldSkills Competition to Kick off in Shanghai; Malaysian PM Anwar to Visit and Cheer for Nati

Shanghai News The 48th WorldSkills Competition will be held in Shanghai from September 22 to 27. Known as the "Olympics of the World Skills", it is the world's highest-level, largest and most influential international vocational skills competition.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, is scheduled to arrive in Shanghai on September 22 to attend the WorldSkills Competition. He will meet Malaysia’s national delegation and cheer for its 22 competitors and coaching team, encouraging young talents to strive for excellence on this global stage. This marks the first time a Malaysian Prime Minister has attended the WorldSkills event in person to support national contestants, reflecting Malaysia’s strong emphasis on technical vocational education and skilled talent development.

The competition brings together young skilled talents across the globe, building an international platform for exchange and mutual learning in vocational skills. It facilitates international cooperation on skills training and vocational education, and boosts regional talent connectivity.
