Bangkok News, October 21 — With 55 days remaining before the opening of the 13th International Day of the Belt and Road (Silkworm God’s Day) and the Global Chinatown Belt and Road New Year Celebration series of events, Han Wenhua, Executive Chairman of the Belt and Road International Cooperation Organization (Thailand) and the Thai‑Chinese Friendship Association, Deng Huixin, Executive Vice‑Chairman, Kang Dan, President of the Liaoning General Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, and other leaders of Thai overseas Chinese associations warmly received Chen Entian, Chairman of the Silk Road International Chamber Alliance and Global Director of the International Day of the Belt and Road, in Bangkok. The two sides held in‑depth discussions on a number of China‑Thailand people‑to‑people cultural cooperation projects.
Chen Entian stated during the meeting that the 13th International Day of the Belt and Road (Silkworm God’s Day) coincides with Thailand’s National Sports Day, carrying a special significance that integrates humanities and sports. At present, the Bangkok Workstation of Volunteers for the International Day of the Belt and Road is stepping up preparations for the First China‑Thailand Coco Ribbon Ball Friendly Match. He sincerely invited all associations engaged in Belt and Road‑related work in Thailand to participate and cooperate hand in hand. Taking sports competitions and cultural blessing ceremonies as links, the initiative aims to boost people‑to‑people connectivity under the Belt and Road Initiative, diversify forms of China‑Thailand people‑to‑people cultural exchanges, and consolidate the foundation of friendship between the two peoples.
The forum focused on discussing the preparation progress of the 13th International Day of the Belt and Road (Silkworm God’s Day) and the Global Chinatown Belt and Road New Year Celebration. The participants also exchanged views on the implementation arrangements of the First China‑Thailand Coco Ribbon Ball Friendly Match, as well as the planning and construction of the Peace Pagoda at Silkworm Temple, the main venue for Dharma propagation during the Silkworm God’s Day. They explored cooperation approaches for multi‑party participation and resource coordination. Representatives of the Thai associations expressed their readiness to actively coordinate relevant preparation work, leverage the bridging role of local Thai overseas Chinese associations, support the launch of this year’s International Day of the Belt and Road activities, and jointly deepen China‑Thailand people‑to‑people friendly exchanges.
