73 Days Countdown to the 13th Belt and Road International Day, Chen Entian Writes to International Friends to Advocate Cross‑Civilization Celebration

(New York station of SilkRoadNewsAgency)On October 3, only 73 days remain before the opening of the 13th Belt and Road International Day and the Global Belt and Road New Year Celebration. Chen Entian, Chairman of the International Silk Road Guild Hall Alliance and Chairman of the Belt and Road New Year Celebration Organizing Committee, sent letters to multiple international friends to promote the innovative cultural model of “Belt and Road New Year Celebration with Five Festivals Jointly Observed”.

Chen Entian stated that in 73 days, the world will embrace a distinctive international cultural celebration season, opening a new chapter for inclusive dialogue and mutual learning between Eastern and Western civilizations. The series of events officially kicks off on December 16 (Belt and Road International Day), covering five major festivals of the East and the West: Christmas on December 25, New Year’s Day on January 1, Chinese Lunar New Year, and Lantern Festival on January 15. This two‑month cross‑border festive period is regarded as a “cultural honeymoon” for people across the East and the West to bond and integrate.

In his letter to Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister of Italy and former President of the European Parliament, Chen Entian noted that the initiative of “celebrating the New Year and five festivals along the Belt and Road” embodies the resonance of diverse civilizations. It provides a valuable opportunity for deeper people‑to‑people exchanges, mutual understanding and friendly interactions between China and Italy, and further inherits and promotes the timeless Silk Road spirit of peace, openness and inclusiveness.
