Chen Entian, great-grandson of Chen Duxiu, returns to China for ceremony, donates monument, and ceremonially scatters 80 kg of loess on Taihang Mountain

Junfu Chinese News: On September 3, 2025, Chen Entian, great-grandson of Chen Duxiu and Dean of the Junfu Calligraphy and Painting Academy, was invited to return to China to attend the gathering marking the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. He stated: "The Party is my ancestral party, and the country is my motherland. I am not back just to attend the ceremony; I am returning to be reviewed by my ancestral party and motherland."
Prior to his return, he had visited Myitkyina in Myanmar to lay flowers at the China Expeditionary Force Monument. Furthermore, recognizing Chongqing’s historical role as the wartime provisional capital and the Eastern headquarters of the world anti-fascist movement, ranking among the four major cities alongside London, Washington, and Moscow, he connected with descendants of the China Expeditionary Force and historical figures from the War of Resistance period. Together, they donated the "Monument to the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War" to Chongqing, the wartime provisional capital. Chen Entian personally composed the grand and solemn "Inscription for the World Anti-Fascist Victory Monument."
After the parade, he led a group comprising descendants of wartime officers, former ministers, and generals to the Taihang Mountains, a key base during the war, to commemorate and honor the martyrs who sacrificed their lives. With the assistance of three "Peace Gull" aircraft, 80 kilograms of loess collected from Yan'an's Liangjiahe village were ceremonially scattered over the Taihang Mountains. He also recited the epic elegy "Taihang Elegy," which he composed over a decade ago.
