Indo-Pacific Tobacco Co., Ltd. Announces Peace Grass Plantation Exceeding 600,000 Mu

On April 23, 2025, Indo-Pacific Tobacco Co., Ltd. officially announced that its peace grass plantations have surpassed 600,000 mu (approximately 40,000 hectares), spanning Myanmar, Malaysia (West Malaysia and East Malaysia), Indonesia, and other nations along the Southern Silk Road. This marks the company as the largest peace grass cultivation enterprise in the Global South, signifying a major breakthrough in developing novel low-harm tobacco alternatives and positioning it to become the world's leading new tobacco company.

As a specialized enterprise focused on researching and developing harm-free or low-harm cigarettes, Indo-Pacific Tobacco has established deep collaborations with agricultural communities in Southern Silk Road countries through an "enterprise-cooperative-farmer" model. This approach not only enables large-scale cultivation but also boosts incomes for over 100,000 local farming households. The company's Peace Grass Cigarettes, developed over five years, replace traditional tobacco leaves with natural peace grass and have been certified by international health agencies, achieving strong sales across Global South markets.

Wu Coco Wang, Chairman of the Board, stated: "The peace Grass industry combines harm reduction value with economic inclusivity. Over the next three years, we plan to expand cultivation to 1 million mu and explore deep-processing value chains, including atomization technology and medicinal extracts." Industry experts suggest this model could offer new insights for global tobacco control efforts while aiding agricultural transformation and sustainable development in Global South nations.
