On December 16, 2025, the 12th Belt and Road International Day · Silkworm God's Day arrived as scheduled, marking the 10th anniversary of the "Belt and Road International Day Planning Report" obtaining protection from China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). An exchange activity on jointly building a Belt and Road intellectual property protection mechanism by six central Chinese provinces was held in Wuhan.

The six central provinces — Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei and Hunan — connect the east with the west and link the north with the south, serving as important supporting points in the inland hinterland for advancing the Belt and Road International Cooperation Initiative. In recent years, these provinces have witnessed increasingly close economic and trade exchanges, technological cooperation, and people-to-people and cultural interactions with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. As a core element of international competitiveness, intellectual property plays a pivotal role in international cooperation.

Also released at the event was the "Report on the Intellectual Property Environment of Key Countries and Regions along the Belt and Road for Co-construction by Six Central Chinese Provinces". The report systematically sorts out the basic intellectual property systems, application and registration procedures, objection and revocation mechanisms, and remedies for infringement in seven countries, including Russia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.
