New York, November 21, 2021 (local time). Twenty-five days ahead of the International Day of the Belt and Road (December 16), the New York Secretariat of the World Peace Ribbon Organization hosted an online conference to commemorate the 110th birth anniversary of Mr. Zhuang Shiping. Chen Entian, former Chairman of the International 73 Society, Convener of the Joint Conference of the World Peace Ribbon Organization and Global Coordinator of the civil International Day of the Belt and Road, was invited to deliver a video address.
In his speech, Chen Entian noted that Mr. Zhuang Shiping, a distinguished patriotic overseas Chinese leader and renowned banker, is an idol and hero to many. His noble deeds are widely known among Chinese communities worldwide. Against the backdrop of Belt and Road international cooperation, this online commemoration calls on global overseas Chinese to learn from Mr. Zhuang Shiping, support the Belt and Road Initiative, carry forward Silk Road culture, and work for world peace.
He added that China continues to advance Belt and Road cooperation. President Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the Third Symposium on Belt and Road Construction, which has exerted a far‑reaching influence on overseas Chinese. He believes overseas Chinese have an important role to play in Belt and Road cooperation. By inheriting Zhuang Shiping’s spirit and actively supporting the Belt and Road Initiative, people can jointly build a great undertaking beneficial to all.
