
Xiamen News Recently, the 2nd Maritime Silk Road International Arbitration Promotion Exchange Conference was successfully held at Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center. Chen Entian, Director of the Belt and Road National Politics and Law Research Center, chief initiator of the Belt and Road International Day and Chairman of the Global Silk Road Mansion Alliance, sent congratulations to the event.
Hosted by the Maritime Silk Road International Arbitration Promotion Center, the conference themed “International Arbitration Cooperation and Promotion along the Maritime Silk Road”. More than 70 participants attended the meeting, including representatives from the Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre of AALCO, Singapore Maritime Arbitration Chamber, eBRAM International Online Dispute Resolution Centre, Asian International Arbitration Centre, Hong Kong Maritime Arbitrators’ Association, Malaysia AA-ADR Arbitration and Mediation Centre, law scholars from universities and practitioners engaged in foreign-related legal services.
The conference was co-hosted by Datuk Joy Wilson Appukuttan, founder of Malaysia AA-ADR Arbitration and Mediation Centre, and Fan Lixia, Deputy Director of the Executive Committee of the Maritime Silk Road International Arbitration Promotion Center. Li Fuquan, Chairman of the Maritime Silk Road International Arbitration Promotion Center, attended the conference and delivered the opening address.
Participants discussed cross-border commercial dispute resolution, alignment of international arbitration rules and diversified mediation mechanisms for foreign-related disputes along the Maritime Silk Road. The event aims to build a service platform for legal cooperation among countries along the Maritime Silk Road, improve cross-border dispute settlement channels, and support steady economic and trade development of the Maritime Silk Road.
