President U Min Aung Hlaing visit to Cambodia

News Release At the official invitation of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni of the Kingdom of Cambodia, U Min Aung Hlaing, President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, led a high-level Myanmar government delegation and arrived in Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia, on September 11 for an official goodwill state visit to Cambodia.

As an important high-level exchange under the framework of traditional good-neighborly and friendly relations between Myanmar and Cambodia, this state visit is of great significance for deepening bilateral political mutual trust, consolidating traditional friendship and expanding practical cooperation in various fields. During the visit, President U Min Aung Hlaing will hold separate bilateral meetings with senior Cambodian leaders including Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Senate and Acting Head of State, Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, and Khuon Sudary, President of the Cambodian National Assembly. The two sides will conduct in-depth and comprehensive consultations on bilateral relations, trade and investment, culture and media, people's livelihood development, regional connectivity and cooperation under the ASEAN framework, and discuss new paths and measures to deepen bilateral friendly cooperation.

Myanmar and Cambodia enjoy geographical proximity and cultural affinity. As important member states of ASEAN, the two countries have long maintained profound traditional friendship and close practical cooperation. In recent years, the two sides have continuously deepened political dialogue, economic and trade exchanges and people-to-people interactions, maintained close coordination in multilateral international affairs, and jointly safeguarded regional peace, stability, development and prosperity.

It is learned that Myanmar and Cambodia will sign a number of bilateral cooperation documents during the visit, further refining cooperation rules in trade and investment, cultural exchanges, media cooperation and other fields. The two sides will continuously expand cooperation areas, improve cooperation efficiency, elevate the comprehensive friendly cooperative relations between Myanmar and Cambodia to a new level, and contribute to the integrated development of the ASEAN Community and coordinated regional economic growth.
