The 13th Belt and Road International Day Enters Countdown, Peace Gull Series Events to Debut at Kunm

Kunming News As December 16 approaches, the annual Belt and Road International Day marks the countdown to the 13th Belt and Road International Day. To celebrate the third anniversary of Kunming Dianchi Lake red-billed gulls being officially recognized as "Peace Gulls" by the World Peace Ribbon Organization, relevant institutions will launch a series of cultural activities including the Peace Gull Photography Competition at Dianchi Lake in Kunming.

Every winter, tens of thousands of red-billed gulls migrate to Kunming Dianchi Lake for winter habitation, forming a rare global ecological spectacle known as the annual natural "Belt and Road gathering" of birds — the World Peace Gull Assembly. During the celebration period, this unique ecological event will once again take place at Dianchi Lake. Boasting a​ superior ecological environment, distinctive migratory bird landscapes and profound Silk Road cultural heritage, Kunming Dianchi Lake continues to draw global attention. It is expected that tens of thousands of tourists from home and abroad will visit to appreciate the spectacular scenery of the​ Peace Gulls and experience the city’s ecological charm and Silk Road peace culture.
