World Peace Conference Held in Washington, Chen Entian, Great-Grandson of Chen Duxiu, Delivers Video Speech

9月21日，由国际七三学社主办，南合管理有限公司、印太烟草有限公司、军赋科技有限公司等机构协办，庆祝“2025国际和平日”的世界和平大会在美国华盛顿举行。来自全球多个国家的九百余名学者代表齐聚一堂，共商促进世界和平计划。

On September 21, the World Peace Conference, celebrating the "2025 International Day of Peace," was held in Washington, D.C., USA. Organized by the International 73 Society and co-sponsored by institutions including SSCO Management Co., Ltd., Indo-Pacific Tobacco Co., Ltd., and Junfu Technology Co., Ltd., the event brought together over 900 scholars and representatives from multiple countries to discuss plans for promoting global peace.

本届大会以"和平共处、文明互鉴"为主题，与会学者围绕冲突化解、文化对话、可持续发展等议题进行了深入交流，为促进世界和平与发展贡献智慧力量。与会期间，各国学者代表还前往华盛顿梅勒姆和平广场集体吟诵《和平经》，以庄严仪式传递人类对和平的共同向往。中共创始人陈独秀曾孙、世界和平丝带组织暨世界和平与统一阵线党第一届至第八届委员会主席陈恩田以视频方式出席大会并发表了《举独秀旗帜促世界和平》的致辞。

With the theme "Peaceful Coexistence and Mutual Learning Among Civilizations," the conference featured in-depth discussions on conflict resolution, cultural dialogue, and sustainable development, contributing wisdom and strength to advancing world peace and development. During the event, scholars from various countries gathered at Washington’s Melham Peace Plaza to collectively recite the "Sutra of Peace," conveying humanity’s shared aspiration for peace through a solemn ceremony. Chen Entian, great-grandson of Chen Duxiu, a founder of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and Chairman of the 1st to 8th Committees of the World Peace Ribbon Organization (also known as the World Peace and United Front Party), attended the conference via video and delivered a speech titled "Upholding the Duxiu Banner to Promote World Peace".

二十一世纪以来，中共党媒党刊透露陈恩田的祖父陈光美系陈独秀与高君曼所生之子，陈恩田在致辞中强调：和平是人类文明存续的基石，呼吁各国超越分歧，携手构建人类命运共同体，让和平的阳光照耀世界。陈恩田最后表示：他将举起独秀先辈的旗帜，为世界和平而努力。

Since the 21st century, CPC media publications have revealed that Chen Entian’s grandfather, Chen Guangmei, was the son of Chen Duxiu and Gao Junman. In his speech, Chen Entian emphasized that "peace is the cornerstone of human civilization’s continuity" and called on nations to transcend differences, work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind, and let the sunlight of peace shine across the world. He concluded by stating that he would "raise the banner of his predecessor Chen Duxiu and strive for world peace".

大家上午好！

Good morning!

今天是公元2025年9月21日，国际七三学社全体学者相聚华盛顿，共同庆祝国际和平日，这是国际学界的大事和喜事。我谨代表世界和平丝带组织暨世界和平与统一阵线党，向2025世界和平大会表示最热烈的祝贺，向参加大会的全体来宾表示最真诚的祝福，祝贺大会硕果累累、造福全球，祝愿大家吉祥如意、幸福美满。

Today, September 21, 2025, marks a significant and joyous occasion for the global academic community as scholars of the International 73 Scholars Association gather in Washington to celebrate the International Day of Peace. On behalf of the World Peace Ribbon Organization and the World Peace and United Front Party, I extend our warmest congratulations to the 2025 World Peace Conference and offer our sincerest blessings to all attendees. May the conference yield fruitful results that benefit the world, and may everyone enjoy good fortune and happiness.

和平是人类永恒的追求，是不同文明共同的愿景。五年前，针对新冠病毒事件，世界和平丝带组织成立了全球反甩锅反嫁祸联盟，以事实和依据赢得了美国人民的支持，为增进中美两国人民友谊，促进世界和平作出了贡献。为纪念这一重大历史事件，我们以美国英雄市长“迈克尔.梅勒姆”先生之名命名“梅勒姆和平广场”。今天，国际七三学社部分学者将前往梅勒姆和平广场诵读《和平经》，正是为了传递包容与和谐的精神，凝聚全球人民对和平的渴望。

Peace is humanity’s eternal pursuit and a shared vision across civilizations. Five years ago, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Peace Ribbon Organization established the Global Alliance Against Scapegoating and Blame-Shifting. Through facts and evidence, it garnered support from the American people, contributing to the friendship between the peoples of China and the United States and advancing world peace. To commemorate this historic event, we named a peace plaza in honor of the heroic American mayor, Michael Melham, as the "Melham Peace Plaza." Today, scholars from the International 73 Scholars Association will gather at Melham Peace Plaza to recite the "Sutra of Peace," embodying the spirit of inclusivity and harmony while uniting people worldwide in their longing for peace.

十多年前，受佛光山开山宗长星云大师佛学开示和徳慧启迪，我与联合国原副秘书长冀朝铸前辈，携手创立了世界和平丝带组织暨世界和平与统一阵线党，提出五合一世界和平主张，将每年12月16日设立为“一带一路”国际日，整合圣诞节、元旦节、春节、元宵节，打造东西方文化融合的全球唐人街“一带一路”迎新年活动组合。

Over a decade ago, inspired by the Buddhist teachings and wisdom of Venerable Master Hsing Yun, the founder of Fo Guang Shan, I joined hands with former UN Deputy Secretary-General Ji Chaozhu to establish the World Peace Ribbon Organization and the World Peace and United Front Party. We proposed the "Five-in-One World Peace Initiative" and designated December 16 as the "Belt and Road International Day," integrating Christmas, New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, and Lantern Festival to create a global Chinatown celebration that blends Eastern and Western cultures—the "Belt and Road" New Year festivities.

国际七三学社有很多学者是我的兄弟朋友，也有很多是我的门生弟子，大家知道我担任第一届委员会主席时，从未承认自己是中共创始人陈独秀的曾孙，那时候不想给自己背上沉重的包袱，罩上虚妄的光环。但是，自中国官媒透露我的祖父陈光美实际系陈独秀与高君曼所生之子，加之祖父临终时嘱托我将来有能力时可以举起“独秀”旗帜，所以我终于决定举起“独秀”这面旗帜，发扬独秀精神，为促进世界和平而努力。

Many scholars of the International 73 Scholars Association are my brothers, friends, and disciples. When I served as the first chairman of the committee, I never publicly acknowledged myself as the great-grandson of Chen Duxiu, a founder of the Communist Party of China. At that time, I did not want to burden myself with such a weighty legacy or bask in undeserved glory. However, after Chinese official media revealed that my grandfather, Chen Guangmei, was indeed the son of Chen Duxiu and Gao Junman, and given my grandfather’s final wish for me to uphold the "Duxiu" banner when capable, I have now decided to raise this banner proudly. I aim to carry forward the Duxiu spirit and strive for world peace.
