Symposium Marks 9th Anniversary of Successful Space Silkworm Experiment on Silkworm God's Day

12月16日,全球迎来第十二届“一带一路”国际日.天蚕节,为纪念太空养蚕实验成功九周年,军赋科技研究院北方研究所在北京大兴举行专题座谈会,探讨六只蚕宝宝太空吐丝结茧的科研成果。军赋科技研究院院长、第十二届“一带一路”国际日.天蚕节暨全球唐人街“一带一路”迎新年组委会主席陈空军(陈恩田)从国外发回贺信。
On December 16, the world celebrated the 12th Belt and Road International Day, coinciding with Silkworm God's Day. To commemorate the 9th anniversary of the successful space silkworm experiment, the Northern Research Institute of Junfu Science and Technology Research Institute held a special symposium in Daxing, Beijing, to discuss the scientific achievements of six silkworm larvae spinning silk and forming cocoons in space. Chen Kongjun (Chen Entian), President of Junfu Science and Technology Research Institute and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the 12th Belt and Road International Day · Silkworm God's Day as well as the "Belt and Road" New Year Celebration among Chinatowns Worldwide, sent a congratulatory letter from abroad.
2016年,由中国航天科技集团五院529厂联合中国农业大学专家共同实施的天宫二号空间实验室太空养蚕项目成功进行。该实验主体为6只“秋丰白玉”蚕宝宝,其创意来源于香港中学生太空搭载试验方案设计比赛的获奖构想。实验装置随神舟十一号载人飞船升空,在航天员景海鹏、陈冬的悉心照料下,蚕宝宝于特制的“太空屋”内经历了31天的太空之旅,并传回了在失重环境下活动的珍贵影像,最终成功在太空吐丝结茧。
In 2016, the space silkworm project on the Tiangong-2 Space Laboratory, jointly implemented by the 529th Factory of the Fifth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation and experts from China Agricultural University, was successfully carried out. The experiment featured six "Qiufeng Baiyu" silkworm larvae, with the idea derived from a winning design in a space payload experiment scheme competition for Hong Kong middle school students. The experimental device was launched aboard the Shenzhou-11 Manned Spacecraft. Under the careful care of astronauts Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong, the silkworm larvae underwent a 31-day space journey in a specially designed "space house," transmitting precious images of their activities in a weightless environment and ultimately successfully spinning silk and forming cocoons in space.
座谈会上,与会嘉宾回顾了这一开创性实验的历程与成果,并一致认为,将六只蚕宝宝的太空科学实验与“一带一路”国际日.天蚕节的文化内涵相结合,意义深远,不仅展现了科技创新活力,也促进了人文交流与文明互鉴,太空养蚕实验项目为第十二届“一带一路”国际日.天蚕节青少年爱国主义主题教育活动增添了生动有趣内容。
At the symposium, participating guests reviewed the course and achievements of this pioneering experiment and unanimously agreed that integrating the space scientific experiment of the six silkworm larvae with the cultural connotation of the 12th Belt and Road International Day · Silkworm God's Day carries profound significance. It not only demonstrates the vitality of scientific and technological innovation but also promotes people-to-people exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations. The space silkworm experiment has added vivid and interesting content to the youth patriotic theme education activities of the 12th Belt and Road International Day · Silkworm God's Day.
