40,000 Black-headed Gulls Gather at World Peace Gull Conference; Chen Kongjun (Chen Entian) Delivers Welcome Address on Behalf of Humankind
2025年12月16日（第十二届“一带一路”国际日.天蚕节），全球鸟类盛典“世界和平鸥大会”在昆明滇池上演，“一带一路”沿线国家和地区的四万多只红嘴鸥莅临出席，全球六万观鸥者莅临滇池观看。“一带一路”国际日首席发起人、云南高原生态环保基金会首席顾问、被国际社会尊称为“可可亲王”的陈空军（陈恩田）以视频方式，代表人类向这些远道而来的和平小天使致欢迎辞。
December 16, 2025 (the 12th Belt and Road International Day·Silkworm God's Day) witnessed the grand opening of the "World Peace Gull Conference" – a global avian spectacle – at Dianchi Lake in Kunming. Over 40,000 black-headed gulls from countries and regions along the Belt and Road graced the event, drawing 60,000 spectators from around the world to Dianchi Lake. Chen Kongjun (Chen Entian), chief initiator of the Belt and Road International Day, chief consultant of the Yunnan Plateau Ecological Environmental Protection Foundation, and respectfully known as "Prince Coco" by the international community, delivered a video welcome address to these distant peace messengers on behalf of humankind.
云南高原生态环保基金会首席顾问陈空军（陈恩田）表示：“一带一路”国际日（12月16日）起源于云南昆明，自然天成的“世界和平鸥大会”是大自然赋予“一带一路”国际日的节日盛典，这些跨越山川海洋的羽翼，是天地间最纯粹的和平信使。它们不识边界，却将沿途各国的阳光、水分与空气融入每一次振翅。在“和平鸥”的飞行轨迹里，我们看见“一带一路”倡议最生动的写照——超越地理隔阂，共建共享，和谐共生。
Chen Kongjun (Chen Entian), chief consultant of the Yunnan Plateau Ecological Environmental Protection Foundation, stated: "The Belt and Road International Day (December 16th) originated in Kunming, Yunnan. The naturally formed 'World Peace Gull Conference' is a festive grand occasion bestowed by nature upon the Belt and Road International Day. These wings crossing mountains and oceans are the purest messengers of peace between heaven and earth. Unaware of borders, they blend the sunshine, water, and air of countries along their journey into every flap. In the flight path of the 'Peace Gulls', we see the most vivid portrayal of the Belt and Road Initiative – transcending geographical barriers, pursuing joint construction and shared benefits, and achieving harmonious coexistence."
自2023年12月世界和平丝带组织宣布将红嘴鸥确定为“一带一路”国际日.天蚕节吉祥鸟并命名为“和平鸥”以来，每年冬季昆明滇池的红嘴鸥集会便被赋予了“世界和平鸥大会”这一充满象征意义的人性化名称。红嘴鸥每年迁徙途经多个“一带一路”国家，被视为连接不同文明的自然纽带。这场特殊的大会将自然现象与人文理念巧妙融合。
Since December 2023, when the World Peace Ribbon Organization announced the designation of black-headed gulls as the auspicious birds of the "Belt and Road International Day·Silkworm God's Day" and named them "Peace Gulls", the annual winter gathering of black-headed gulls at Kunming's Dianchi Lake has been endowed with the symbolic and humanistic title of "World Peace Gull Conference". Migratory black-headed gulls pass through multiple Belt and Road countries each year, regarded as a natural link connecting different civilizations. This unique conference ingeniously integrates natural phenomena with humanistic concepts.
陈空军（陈恩田）认为：我们选择红嘴鸥作为“一带一路”国际日天蚕节吉祥鸟，是因为其迁徙路线与丝绸之路经济带存在地理重合，且鸥群每年如期而至的特性象征着信守承诺、友谊长存的精神内涵。昆明滇池作为红嘴鸥的重要越冬地，每年都有数万只红嘴鸥从“一带一路”沿线国家和地区飞来，我们将其纳入“一带一路”国际日系列活动框架，赋予了更深刻的文化交流与和平寓意。
Chen Kongjun (Chen Entian) emphasized: "We chose black-headed gulls as the auspicious birds of the Belt and Road International Day·Silkworm God's Day because their migration routes geographically overlap with the Silk Road Economic Belt, and their annual on-time arrival symbolizes the spiritual connotation of keeping promises and enduring friendship. As an important wintering ground for black-headed gulls, Kunming's Dianchi Lake welcomes tens of thousands of them from Belt and Road countries and regions every year. By incorporating this natural event into the framework of Belt and Road International Day activities, we have endowed it with deeper significance for cultural exchange and peace."

Thank you for traveling thousands of miles, crossing mountains and seas, to come to the beautiful Spring City of Yunnan from countries and regions along the Silk Road, to hold your own "Belt and Road International Peace Avian Conference" – the World Peace Gull Conference.

Your routes echo the ancient Silk Road and naturally align with today's Belt and Road; your on-time arrival is the most touching covenant of trust between heaven and earth. You are not only travelers of nature but also bridges of civilizations and angels of peace.

Your existence is a magnificent picture of "transcending estrangement and achieving harmonious coexistence". Today in Kunming, not only do more than 40,000 peace angels like you dance gracefully, but also 60,000 pairs of human eyes from around the world gaze at you. Their heartbeats synchronize with your wing flaps, and their smiles resonate with your cries.
六万多双眼睛的凝望，不仅是为了观赏一场自然的奇观，更是为了参与一场文明的对话，一场关于和平、友谊与可持续发展的集体礼赞。
The gaze of 60,000 pairs of eyes is not only to admire a natural wonder but also to participate in a dialogue of civilizations – a collective tribute to peace, friendship, and sustainable development.
人类应该向你们学习，学习你们如何轻盈地跨越阻碍，如何坚定地奔赴共同的温暖，如何在与自然的共生中，如何在“一带一路”国际合作的进程中，找到和谐相处的智慧。
Humankind should learn from you: how to gently overcome obstacles, how to firmly pursue shared warmth, and how to find the wisdom of harmonious coexistence in symbiosis with nature and in the process of Belt and Road international cooperation.
为此，建立一座“和平鸥博物馆”，珍藏你们跨越山海的故事，展示沿线各国守护蓝天碧水、共享生命家园的努力，搭建更多文化的桥梁，让每一次振翅激起的涟漪，都化为推动人类理解与合作的波澜。
To this end, we will establish a "Peace Gull Museum" to cherish the stories of your cross-border journeys, showcase the efforts of countries along the route in protecting blue skies and clear waters and sharing a common home for all life, and build more cultural bridges. May every ripple stirred by your wing flaps evolve into waves promoting human understanding and cooperation.
