SSCO High-Speed Rail Economic Institute of the Global South Launched in Hong Kong

香港当地时间2025年8月19日，南方丝绸之路及全球南方合作委员会主导的"全球南方高铁经济研究院"在香港正式成立。该机构旨在依托中国先进高铁技术，推动全球南方国家基础设施互联互通与经济协同发展。

HONG KONG — The High-Speed Rail Economic Institute of the Global South, spearheaded by the Southern Silk Road and Global South Cooperation Council, was officially inaugurated in Hong Kong on August 19, 2025. The institute aims to leverage China's advanced high-speed rail technology to boost infrastructure connectivity and collaborative economic development among Global South nations.

研究院主要为南方丝绸之路及全球南方国家提供高铁项目规划、设计咨询与可行性论证服务，并围绕高铁经济带动产业开发、技术合作与人才培训。此举有望深化全球南方合作，助力区域经济一体化，为发展中国家可持续增长注入新动力。

The institute will provide high-speed rail project planning, design consultation, and feasibility assessment services for countries along the Southern Silk Road and the Global South. It will also focus on industrial development, technical cooperation, and talent training driven by high-speed rail economies. This initiative is expected to deepen Global South collaboration, advance regional economic integration, and inject new momentum into sustainable growth in developing nations.

南合组织主席、全球南方合作银行筹委会主任陈恩田表示：中国高铁的成熟模式，值得全球南方借鉴。全球南方合作基金、中国国家铁路集团，以及中国中铁、中国铁建、印太烟草等关联机构纷纷表示支持与祝贺。

Chen Entian, Chairman of the SSCO and Head of the Preparatory Committee for the Global South Cooperation Bank, stated, "China's mature high-speed rail model offers valuable insights for the Global South." The Global South Cooperation Fund, China State Railway Group, and affiliated entities such as China Railway Group, China Railway Construction Corporation, and Indo-Pacific Tobacco expressed support and congratulations.
