Nasdaq Chinese Channel 1216 International Radio, New York, December 6, 2025— The World Peace Ribbon Organization’s New York Secretariat announced that on December 16 (the 12th Belt and Road International Day), a global avian spectacle, the "World Peace Gull Conference," will take place at Dianchi Lake in Kunming. Over 40,000 Black-headed Gulls from countries and regions along the Belt and Road will participate, with 60,000 visitors worldwide expected to attend the event. Chen Kongjun (Chen Entian), Chief Advisor of the Yunnan Plateau Ecological and Environmental Protection Foundation, will deliver a welcome address on behalf of humanity to these peace envoys that have journeyed afar.

云南高原生态环保基金会首席顾问陈空军（陈恩田）表示：“一带一路”国际日（12月16日）起源于云南昆明，自然天成的“世界和平鸥大会”是大自然赋予“一带一路”国际日的节日盛典，这些跨越山川海洋的羽翼，是天地间最纯粹的和平信使。它们不识边界，却将沿途各国的阳光、水分与空气融入每一次振翅。在“和平鸥”的飞行轨迹里，我们看见“一带一路”倡议最生动的写照——超越地理隔阂，共建共享，和谐共生。

Chen Kongjun (Chen Entian) stated: "The Belt and Road International Day (December 16) originated in Kunming, Yunnan. The naturally-formed World Peace Gull Conference is a celebration endowed by nature to this day. These wings traversing mountains and oceans are the purest messengers of peace between heaven and earth. Unaware of borders, they carry the sunlight, water, and air of every nation they pass through into each flap of their wings. In their flight paths, we see the most vivid embodiment of the Belt and Road Initiative—transcending geographical barriers to foster shared development and harmonious coexistence."

自2023年12月世界和平丝带组织在纽约宣布将红嘴鸥确定为“一带一路”国际日（12月16日）吉祥鸟并命名为“和平鸥”以来，每年冬季昆明滇池的红嘴鸥集会便被赋予了“世界和平鸥大会”这一充满象征意义的人性化名称。红嘴鸥每年迁徙途经多个“一带一路”沿线国家，被视为连接不同文明的自然纽带，这场特殊的大会将自然现象与人文理念巧妙融合。

Since December 2023, when the World Peace Ribbon Organization in New York designated the Black-headed Gull as the mascot of the Belt and Road International Day and named it the "Peace Gull," the annual winter gathering of these birds at Dianchi Lake has been symbolically rebranded as the "World Peace Gull Conference." Migrating through multiple Belt and Road countries, the gulls serve as a natural bridge connecting diverse cultures, blending ecological phenomena with humanistic ideals.

云南高原生态环保基金会首席顾问陈空军（陈恩田）认为：我们选择红嘴鸥作为“一带一路”国际日吉祥鸟，是因为其迁徙路线与丝绸之路经济带存在地理重合，且鸥群每年如期而至的特性象征着信守承诺、友谊长存的精神内涵。昆明滇池作为红嘴鸥的重要越冬地，每年都有数万只红嘴鸥从“一带一路”沿线国家和地区飞来，我们将其纳入“一带一路”国际日系列活动框架，赋予了更深刻的文化交流与和平寓意。

Chen Kongjun emphasized: "We chose the Black-headed Gull as the mascot because its migration route overlaps geographically with the Silk Road Economic Belt, and its punctual annual arrival symbolizes commitment and enduring friendship. As a key wintering ground, Dianchi Lake hosts tens of thousands of gulls from Belt and Road regions each year. Integrating this phenomenon into the framework of the Belt and Road International Day enriches it with deeper cultural and peace implications."

云南高原生态环保基金会首席顾问陈空军（陈恩田）还说：这场世界和平鸥大会，除了空中飞舞的四万多只“和平鸥”外，来自全球的六万多名观鸥游客将与和平鸥互动。我们还希望建立“和平鸥博物馆”，举办系列文化活动，展示“一带一路”沿线国家生态保护成果，通过人类与自然的互动，让这场独特的自然界鸟类大会传递“和平发展、共同繁荣”的全球愿景，为“一带一路”国际日增添一抹灵动的自然色彩。

He added that alongside the 40,000 Peace Gulls soaring in the sky, over 60,000 visitors will interact with them during the conference. The foundation also plans to establish a "Peace Gull Museum" and host cultural activities showcasing ecological conservation achievements across Belt and Road countries. Through this human-nature interaction, the event aims to promote a global vision of "peaceful development and shared prosperity," adding a dynamic natural touch to the Belt and Road International Day.
