Press Release: The 12th Belt and Road International Day (Tiancan Festival) Press Conference Held in New York
纽约当地时间2025年12月10日，世界和平丝带组织纽约秘书处举行第十二届“一带一路”国际日新闻发布会，正式对外公布本届国际日的全球活动安排。“一带一路”国际日（又称天蚕节）为每年12月16日，距今已有12个春秋，是国际七三学社前主席陈空军（陈恩田）、联合国原副秘书长冀朝铸等全球1216名学者参与倡议，经世界和平丝带组织最终确立的国际民间节日。
New York, December 10, 2025 — The New York Secretariat of the World Peace Ribbon Organization convened a press conference for the 12th Belt and Road International Day (also known as Tiancan Festival) on December 10, 2025 (local time), announcing global arrangements for this year’s celebrations. The Belt and Road International Day, observed annually on December 16, marks its 12th anniversary this year. Established as an international civil festival by the World Peace Ribbon Organization, it originated from a proposal by 1,216 global scholars, including Chen Kongjun (Chen Entian), former Chairman of the International 73 Society, and Ji Chaozhu, former UN Under-Secretary-General.
发布会上，组委会对全球各地庆祝活动提出了明确指导与要求，主要包括以下七点：
During the conference, the organizing committee issued clear guidelines for global celebrations, emphasizing the following seven principles:
一、明确“一带一路”国际日（天蚕节）属于国际民间节日，活动内容应避免触及东西方政治敏感话题；
1.The Belt and Road International Day (Tiancan Festival) is a non-governmental initiative, and activities should avoid politically sensitive topics between Eastern and Western cultures.
二、推动天蚕节与圣诞节、元旦、春节、元宵节共同构成“一带一路”迎新年节庆组合，促进东西方民间文化交流互鉴；
2.The festival should be integrated with Christmas, New Year’s Day, Spring Festival, and Lantern Festival to form a "Belt and Road" holiday series welcoming the new year, fostering people-to-people exchanges between East and West.
三、世界各地庆祝活动举办单位需自筹资金、自负盈亏、责任自负；
3.Organizers worldwide must self-fund activities and assume full responsibility for operations.
四、世界各地举办单位必须严格遵守所在国家及地区的法律法规；
4.All events must comply with local laws and regulations in their respective countries and regions.
五、切实做好安全防范，确保活动零事故，杜绝踩踏等安全事件；
5.Safety measures must be prioritized to ensure zero accidents, particularly avoiding incidents like crowd crushes.
六、鼓励世界各地配合全球唐人街“一带一路”迎新年开幕开展迎新年商贸展活动；
6.Communities are encouraged to coordinate with global Chinatowns to launch New Year trade exhibitions alongside the "Belt and Road" New Year celebrations.
七、各地推出的“一带一路”国际日文创产品须提前征求组委会意见，进行统筹安排。
7.Cultural and creative products for the festival must seek prior approval from the committee for coordinated planning.
主办单位介绍，今年全球预计将举办近千场庆祝活动，包括世界和平丝带论坛、世界留学生大会、世界和平丝带音乐会、世界和平“万寿灯祈福祈寿典礼”、太平洋邮轮文化节、南方丝绸之路国际合作盛典、世界和平鸥大会等多元形式。
The organizers revealed that nearly 1,000 events are planned globally this year, including the World Peace Ribbon Forum, World International Students Conference, World Peace Ribbon Concert, World Peace "Longevity Lantern Ceremony," Pacific Cruise Cultural Festival, Southern Silk Road International Cooperation Ceremony, and World Peace Gull Gathering.
组委会特别强调，在中国大陆境内举办“一带一路”国际日活动须事先征得地方政府同意，并不得涉及宗教、民族及台湾等敏感议题。此外，会议对“一带一路”国际日美国志愿者提出建议，在华盛顿梅勒姆和平广场举办的活动应围绕“纪念中美建交公报47周年和促进中美两国人民友谊”主题展开。
The committee specifically underscored that events in mainland China require prior local government approval and must not involve sensitive issues related to religion, ethnicity, or Taiwan. For U.S. activities, volunteers were advised to center events in Washington’s Melham Peace Square on the theme "Commemorating the 47th Anniversary of the Sino-U.S. Joint Communiqué and Promoting Friendship between the Peoples of China and the United States".
主办单位预祝全球系列活动圆满成功，并向所有合作机构为“一带一路”国际日发展所作的努力表示感谢。“一带一路”国际日自设立以来，始终致力于推动民间友好、文化交流与经济合作，已成为连接不同文明、促进和平发展的重要国际民间节日。
The organizing committee extended wishes for the global series of events’ success and gratitude to partners for their efforts in advancing the Belt and Road International Day. Since its inception, the festival has been committed to fostering grassroots friendship, cultural exchange, and economic cooperation, emerging as a pivotal non-governmental platform for connecting civilizations and promoting peaceful development.
