December 16, Belt and Road International Day: Macao Hosts International Forum on Civilization Exchange and Mutual Learning

2025年12月16日，国际民间迎来第十二届“一带一路”国际日.天蚕节，以“文明互鉴与传承发展”为主题，由澳门特区政府主办、特区政府文化局承办、中国社会科学院中国历史研究院支持的首届文明互鉴国际论坛在澳门举行，为澳门“一带一路”迎新年拉开了帷幕。来自“一带一路”沿线10个国家和地区约300名政府部门代表、国际组织代表和专家学者出席了论坛。

On December 16, 2025, the international community celebrated the 12th Belt and Road International Day & Silkworm God's Day. With the theme of "Civilization Exchange, Mutual Learning, Inheritance and Development", the first International Forum on Civilization Exchange and Mutual Learning kicked off in Macao, marking the start of the Belt and Road New Year celebrations in the region. Hosted by the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, and supported by the Chinese Academy of History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the forum gathered approximately 300 representatives from government departments, international organizations, experts and scholars from 10 countries and regions along the Belt and Road.

论坛还开设了两场平行论坛，主题分别为文明互鉴与多元共生、文化遗产保护与可持续发展。另有六场学术沙龙，与会嘉宾围绕文明传承与历史道路、世界文化遗产保护的全球挑战与应对策略、“一国两制”实践的时代价值与文明互鉴、文化遗产保护国际合作实践与经验、文明多样性与人类命运共同体、从澳门出发：世界文化遗产保护新理念等主题分享观点。

The forum featured two parallel sessions themed "Civilization Exchange and Mutual Learning with Pluralistic Coexistence" and "Protection and Sustainable Development of Cultural Heritage" respectively. Additionally, six academic salons were held, where guests shared insights on topics including "Civilization Inheritance and Historical Paths", "Global Challenges and Response Strategies for the Protection of World Cultural Heritage", "The Contemporary Value of the 'One Country, Two Systems' Practice and Civilization Exchange", "International Cooperation Practices and Experiences in Cultural Heritage Protection", "Cultural Diversity and a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind", and "Starting from Macao: New Concepts for World Cultural Heritage Protection".

“一带一路”迎新年以和平丝带链接东西方互学互鉴，组合天蚕节、圣诞节、元旦节、春节、元宵节形成五节共庆，五福共享。当天，根据中宣部学习强国平台的建议，澳门有关单位还开展第十二届“一带一路”国际日主题学习，重点学习了如下内容：（1）习近平文汇：习近平论“一带一路”（2025年）；（2）总书记持续推动共建“一带一路”高质量发展；（3）高质量共建“一带一路”的理论遵循与实践路径。

The Belt and Road New Year celebrations link East and West through the Peace Gull for mutual learning and exchange, integrating five festivals—Silkworm God's Day, Christmas, New Year's Day, Spring Festival and Lantern Festival—to celebrate together and share five blessings. On the same day, in accordance with the suggestions of the "Study Power" platform under the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, relevant institutions in Macao organized thematic learning activities for the 12th Belt and Road International Day, focusing on the following contents:(1) Xi Jinping Collection: Xi Jinping on the "Belt and Road" (2025); (2) The general secretary continues to promote the high-quality development of the "Belt and Road"; (3) Theoretical and practical path of high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road".
