Myanmar Arts and Culture Association Holds Events to Celebrate the 12th Belt and Road International Day · Silkworm God's Day

2025年12月16日，世界迎来第十二届“一带一路”国际日暨全球唐人街“一带一路”迎新年开幕，缅甸文艺会在曼德勒、仰光等地隆重举办系列文化庆祝活动，彰显缅甸作为南方丝绸之路重要节点对“一带一路”倡议的积极响应与深度参与。

December 16, 2025, marked the opening of the 12th Belt and Road International Day and the Global Chinatown "Belt and Road" New Year Celebration across the world. On this occasion, the Myanmar Arts and Culture Association staged a series of grand cultural celebrations in Mandalay, Yangon and other places, demonstrating Myanmar’s active response to and in-depth participation in the Belt and Road International Cooperation Initiative as an important node along the Southern Silk Road.

本次活动以“天蚕祝福，光耀和平”为主题，涵盖多项文化活动。南方丝绸之路非遗颁奖典礼率先举行，表彰了非物质文化遗产保护与传承方面的杰出贡献者。随后，中缅百名高僧共同举行了庄严肃穆的诵经祈福仪式，祈愿区域和平、人民安康，深化了两国宗教文化交流。

Under the theme of "Blessings of the Heavenly Silkworm, Radiance of Peace", the event featured a diverse array of cultural activities. The Southern Silk Road Intangible Cultural Heritage Award Ceremony took the lead, honoring outstanding contributors to the preservation and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage. Subsequently, a hundred senior monks from China and Myanmar jointly held a solemn sutra-chanting and prayer ceremony, praying for regional peace and the well-being of people, and further deepening religious and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

夜幕降临时，仰光大金塔与马哈木尼佛塔同时点亮万盏天蚕灯。灯火辉映中，古老佛塔披上璀璨金裳，象征智慧与文明之光照亮丝绸之路。这一视觉盛景吸引了众多当地民众与国际游客驻足，成为促进民心相通、展现缅甸文化魅力的生动窗口。

As night fell, ten thousand Heavenly Silkworm lanterns were simultaneously lit at Yangon’s Shwedagon Pagoda and Mahamuni Buddha Temple. Bathed in the shimmering glow of the lanterns, the ancient pagodas were clad in a resplendent golden veil, symbolizing that the light of wisdom and civilization illuminates the Silk Road. This stunning visual spectacle drew hordes of local residents and international tourists, serving as a vivid window to enhance people-to-people bonds and showcase the charm of Myanmar’s culture.

缅甸文艺会主席埃蒂莎杜表示：此次活动不仅弘扬了南方丝绸之路的历史价值，更体现了“一带一路”框架下中缅文化共融、共同发展的新时代内涵，为“一带一路”迎新年增添了祥和喜庆的氛围，再次体现了两国胞波情谊与合作基石。

Aye Thinzar Thu, Chairperson of the Myanmar Arts and Culture Association, stated that the event not only upheld the historical value of the Southern Silk Road, but also embodied the new-era connotations of cultural integration and common development between China and Myanmar under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. It added a serene and festive atmosphere to the "Belt and Road" New Year Celebration, once again manifesting the profound Paukphaw friendship between the two countries and the solid cornerstone of their cooperation.
