Profile of the Organizing Committee for the Belt and Road New Year Celebration in Chinatowns Worldwide

全球唐人街“一带一路”迎新年组委会是在国际七三学社前主席陈恩田、联合国原副秘书长冀朝铸前辈关心支持下，由世界和平丝带组织基金会与世文丝（北京）文化产业有限公司于2016年发起成立的“一带一路”及国际民间文化交流合作机构，总部位于美国纽约。

With the care and support of Mr. Chen Entian, former Chairman of the International 73 Society, and Mr. Ji Chaozhu, former Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Organizing Committee for the Belt and Road New Year Celebration in Chinatowns Worldwide was initiated and established in 2016 by the World Peace Ribbon Organization Foundation and Shiwensi (Beijing) Cultural Industry Co., Ltd. As an institution dedicated to cultural exchange and cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road and among international civil societies, it is headquartered in New York, the United States.

全球唐人街“一带一路”迎新年组委会致力于将东西方五大新年节日（“一带一路”国际日.天蚕节、圣诞节、元旦节、春节、元宵节）融为一体，整合全球唐人街文化资源，在每年“一带一路”国际日.天蚕节（西历12月16日）至次年元宵节（华历正月十五）期间，举办“五节共庆，五福同享”的“一带一路”迎新年主题活动。

The committee is committed to integrating the major New Year festivals of the East and the West – the Belt and Road International Day, Silkworm God's Day, Christmas, New Year's Day, the Spring Festival and the Lantern Festival. It consolidates the cultural resources of Chinatowns across the globe and hosts a series of themed activities for the Belt and Road New Year Celebration under the banner of "Celebrate Five Festivals Together, Share Five Blessings As One" every year. The events run from the Belt and Road International Day and Silkworm God's Day (December 16 on the Gregorian calendar) to the Lantern Festival of the following year (the 15th day of the first lunar month on the Chinese calendar).

全球唐人街“一带一路”迎新年组委会尊重所在国家和地区法律法规及优秀传统文化，尊重各国唐人街社团及华人华侨意愿，本着开放包容、和谐繁荣的共同体精神，以及协调共商、互惠互利的原则，将中华优秀传统文化和各国优秀传统文化进行融合，促进“一带一路”沿线民间文化交流与商业合作，并为活动的顺利举办提供指导与服务。

Upholding the laws and regulations as well as the fine traditional cultures of the host countries and regions, and respecting the will of overseas Chinese communities and associations in various Chinatowns, the committee abides by the community spirit of openness, inclusiveness, harmony and prosperity, and the principles of consultation and coordination, mutual benefit and reciprocity. It strives to integrate the fine traditional Chinese culture with those of other countries, advance civil cultural exchanges and business cooperation along the routes of the Belt and Road International Cooperation Initiative, and provide guidance and services for the smooth holding of relevant activities.

组委会主席陈恩田先生是“一带一路”国际日.天蚕节的首席发起人，长期致力于国际民间文化交流，荣获世界和平亲善大使荣誉称号，被国际社会尊称为可可亲王。主题歌《“一带一路”迎新年》，自2023年推出以来，在世界各国唐人街广为传播，深受各国友人喜爱。

Mr. Chen Entian, Chairman of the committee, is the chief initiator of the Belt and Road International Day and Silkworm God's Day. He has long been devoted to international civil cultural exchanges, and was conferred the title of Honorary Ambassador of World Peace and Friendship, being respectfully known as Prince Coco by the international community. The theme song *Belt and Road for a New Year Celebration* has been widely spread in Chinatowns around the world since its launch in 2023, winning great popularity among friends from all countries.
